Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for performing the functions in a lean environment to improve processes and provide technical assistance in the building of all assemblies and component parts used in the product.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
+ Define a process in order to accomplish a process improvement task in production.
+ Lead and facilitate Kaizens.
+ Develop value stream maps.
+ Establish Kanban where required.
+ Develop layouts (workplace/plant/line/functional areas) to increase efficiency.
+ Provide technical assistance in the building of all assemblies and components used in the product.
+ Perform time and motion studies.
+ Create a process and routing procedure to document the best procedure to do a job.Provide information to Cost Accounting.
+ Conceptualize tooling to enhance efficiency.Work with Tool Room personnel and outside sources, as required, to accomplish the task.
+ Coordinate the activities of contractors during projects.
+ Act as a liaison with design engineering on new or modified designs.
+ Create process routings and coordinate tooling construction.
+ Write capital expenditure requests.
+ Maintain inventory and ordering procedures for consumable shop supplies in the tool crib.Acquire supplies as needed.
+ Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching innovative, cost efficient business solutions.
+ Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.

Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, grasp with hands, feel, kneel and sit.
+ The employee must exert up to 5 pounds of force occasionally and/or a light amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.Rarely, the individual is required to exert a heavy amount of force, up to and over 60 pounds, to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention and close vision, far vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
+ Subject to both inside and outside working conditions.
+ Exposure to noise sufficient enough to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
+ Physical conditions include proximity to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
+ Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes and dust but not to the extent of being disagreeable.
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferred.
+ Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing techniques and ergonomics.
+ Have experience developing value stream maps.
+ Broad knowledge of manufacturing methods.
+ On-the-job training
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and PowerPoint.
+ Proficient in the use of various hand tools.
+ Familiar with AutoCAD
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Proficient in managing multiple tasks.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
