SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior Cost Accountant for our Williston, South Carolina facility will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our Standard Cost system as well as the accuracy of our perpetual inventory records. The individual, along with the Cost Accountant, will work closely with engineering and operations to ensure effective execution of these responsibilities. This position is identified as a key developmental role in the business.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Ensure the accuracy and integrity of our Standard Cost system to include development of annual standard costs as well as the ongoing maintenance required due to changes driven by engineering and/or operations.
+ Ensure the accuracy of our perpetual inventory system. Oversee monthly reconciliations and provide analysis to management of issues.
+ Co-ordinate our cycle count program, analyze data to root cause and implement corrective actions.
+ Analyze cost variances, inventory movements, and other accounting reports as they relate to cost.
+ Lead internal control environment as it pertains to the Inventory Cycle and ensure accurate financial statements and safeguarding of company assets
+ Lead the annual Physical Inventory count.
+ Manage, coach and mentor the Cost Accountant
+ Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting.
+ Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information for management as needed for decision making support.
+ Set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items; create and maintain production BOMs; maintain periodic cost rolls/updates
+ Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
+ Prepare estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
+ Recommend cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
+ Provide management with analysis and reports on prices and profitability of products or services.
+ Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
+ Lead and manage the quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review process.
+ Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP (QAD) system through analysis, audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, engineering and work order processing.
+ Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
+ Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, new products etc.
Education / Skills Required:
+ Bachelor?s degree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance with preference given for CPA, CMA, CPIM and/or Master?s Degree in Accounting.
+ Accounting in a manufacturing environment, ideally using standard cost accounting.
+ Strong information technology skills.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
+ Experience with QAD an advantage.
+ Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
