POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Assistant Controller. Key focus areas includes Internal Control and Compliance, Monthly Reporting, and overseeing financial operations of the business and strengthening the Finance Department talent pool in the area of financial accounting and controllership.
To provide commercially astute analysis and insight to other areas of the business, leading to continuous improvement in business KPI?s. To also continually develop financial processes and systems to eliminate waste.
To help drive and execute the departments? and organizations? strategies, leading to the achievement of business strategic goals.
This role would be suitable for individuals aspiring to Controller or CFO roles.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:
+ Internal Controls & Compliance:
+ Ensure compliance with Crane Co governance procedures, risk management and internal control policies.
+ Collaborate with Internal Audit to ensure proper compliance.
+ Develop and document local business processes and accounting policies to demonstrate compliance with internal control requirements.
+ Promote strong Internal Control practices across all areas of the business.
+ Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings as required
+ Ensure key account reconciliations are performed to a high standard.
+ Reporting:
+ Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded in the ledgers.
+ Co-ordinate the monthly close out leading to the timely submission of financial results to Corporate.
+ Complete monthly management reports to identify variances and trends.
+ Interpret results and work with budget holders on improvement activities.
+ Improve the Management Information supplied to site management
+ Production of yearly Statutory Accounts
+ Liaising with external audit as required
+ Team Development
+ Manage the Staff Accounting and Accounts Payable teams
+ Develop the teams? knowledge and skills by creating and executing individual development plans and providing training, coaching and mentoring to the group.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
+ Bachelor?s Degree Accounting or related MBA, required.
+ CPA or CMA highly preferred.
Experience:
+ 5-10 years of experience with progressive advancement in the field of Financial Management.
+ High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Strong analytical skills.
+ Demonstrated talent development experience.
+ SOX implementation and process control experience.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
+ Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
+ Experience with Hyperion and QAD Accounting Systems desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
