Position: Field Service Engineer
Reports To: Regional Service Manager
Department: Product Support
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for assisting the customer with the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of Company products, for a fee if out of warranty, and provide customer training for all products. The FSE is also expected to assist in revenue generation via paid service, parts sales, telemetry products, and new equipment sales.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Assures equipment performance and provides technical advice to the customer, other support personnel and production staff.
+ Train customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of Company products. Conduct training classes, as required.
+ Write Quality Reports and make suggestions regarding the functioning and acceptability of Company products. Submit reports on a timely basis via the designated Quality Reporting database.
+ Monitor and report competitive activity.
+ Keep current on new products and feature changes in existing products.
+ Plan and maintain records on all phases of activity utilizing SalesForce.com.
+ Communicate with respective Area Sales Manager to share market intelligence gathered through all sources, and participate in regularly scheduled Territory Team conference calls.
+ Maintain and control inventory in Company vehicle. Complete physical inventory as required.
+ Communicate and enforce authorized warranty policy.
+ Conduct paid service calls, as required.
+ Identify target accounts for additional equipment and parts sales penetration based on local knowledge of customer base.
+ Schedule customer visits based on the actual customer need with input from respective Territory Team. Coordinate with Territory Team on meeting customer needs using a resource and priority basis.
+ Monitor all expenses incurred on behalf of the company. Submit all expense reports on a timely basis per company policy.
+ Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost efficient business solutions, and make process improvement suggestions to supervisor.
+ Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and property, and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
Education / Skills Required:
Education:
+ High School diploma plus additional specialized training equal to two years college or technical school.
+ Bachelor?s degree in Business or technical field, preferred.
Experience:
+ Minimum three to five years progressively responsible experience, in a similar position in the vending industry.
+ Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic principles as they apply to the set-up, repair, and maintenance of Company products. Extensive knowledge of Crane products preferred.
+ Proven analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Strong time management and prioritization skills.
+ Experience managing a large geographical territory with overnight travel (typically up to 60%).
+ Good understanding of the vending industry.
+ Flexible with positive, outgoing attitude.
+ Creative in approach to problem solving.
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
+ Applicant must be a USA citizen, to be able to assist our customers at vending sites requiring a high security clearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
